Peek-A-BOO Halloween Wreath

October has come and almost gone. I had so many fun plans to celebrate the arrival of Fall, have they happened? Not really.

But I did finally finish my Halloween wreath. It took me about two weeks to do it. Pathetic. It wasn't working the way I wanted it to, so I needed a break. But I am proud to say that it is finished, and hanging on my door. Suddenly my house looks festive! Absolutely love it!

I found the idea on Pinterest here. I changed a few things. First I made it bigger by using a 16" wreath instead of a 12". Next I was cheap and got the smaller boas without the cute feathers. They were almost double the price. But I kind of wish I would have done it. Because I didn't have the big, full boas, I got rid of the 1 1/2" eyeballs and just used 1" eyeballs.

So here is what I did:

First I started with all this. 16" wreath, a little metal sign, 3 boas (easily could have used 4), 32 1" Styrofoam balls, googly eyes, purple ribbon, a cool temp hot glue gun and some black paint.

The first thing I did was paint the wreath black. If I had a gap with my boas I didn't want any white to be showing. Then I tied and glued my ribbon and sign onto the wreath.

Next I wrapped the boas around the wreath and glued...a lot. I didn't want anything to come unraveled.

And here is where my wreath sat for a good week and a half. The eyeballs just didn't work with the smaller boas. It was sad. But, refusing to accept defeat, I finally sat down with it and decided to ditch the big eyes and stick with just small ones.

But I still used the two different sizes of googly eyes. I glued one eye to each ball, then glued the pair of eyeballs together.

The last step is just gluing the eyeballs to the wreath. Again, I used a lot of glue. I didn't want any eyeballs falling off.
And here is my finished wreath hanging on my front door. Love it!
